"Beauty and the Beast" has already broken a record. It is the most -viewed trailer within the first 24 hours of its release.
According to reports from Disney, the first official trailer for "Beauty and the Beast" was viewed 127.6 million times in the day after it released on Nov. 14. It dethrones "Fifty Shades Darker" (114 million views.) Earlier, the most viewed trailer was "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (112 million views) for the most views across all digital platforms which included YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc. during the first day of its release.
The "Beauty and the Beast" trailer had 9.8 million views on YouTube. It did not stop there. The trailer had 29 million views on Facebook and 27 million views on actress Emma Watson's page. This reveals that one of the major attractions of the movie is the actress herself, Emma Watson, who portrays the iconic character of Belle, reported The Independent.
When the filming of "Beauty and the Beast" started, there were a lot of questions in everyone's mind. The prime of them being, what exactly is Belle's iconic yellow dress going to look like on the screen? Will the dress be replicated perfectly?
The trailer of "Beauty and the Beast" reveals it all. It is beautiful and perfect. "For Emma, it was important that the dress was light and that it had a lot of movement," the film's costume designer Jacqueline Durran said. "In Emma's reinterpretation, Belle is an active princess. She did not want a dress that was corseted or that would impede her in any way," she added, reported The Billboard.
"Beauty and the Beast" stars Watson and Dan Stevens as the titular Beauty and Beast, respectively, while Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald and Emma Thompson voice the film's vast variety of home and kitchen wares.
