‘Beauty And The Beast’ Movie Update: Emma Watson ‘Belle’ Unveils First Official Poster For Live-Action Adaptation of Disney Classic

British actress Emma Watson took to Twitter yesterday to share her excitement over the first official poster of "Beauty and the Beast." Watson plays "Belle" in the live-action adaptation of this Disney classic which will be shown in 2017. Dan Stevens of "Downtown Abbey" fame plays the Beast.

"So happy I get to show all of you the new teaser poster for Beauty and the Beast. You are the very first people to see this! I hope you like it. Love, Emma x," Eonline reported.

The first official poster is said to encapsulate "all the magical feelings the movie brings its viewers." USA Today said the poster features Belle in a billowing, yellow gown while dancing with the beastly prince. The poster was both mysterious and intriguing.

Earlier this week, Disney released movie stills and trailers which had fans gushing over the costumes and set design. Particularly breathtaking was the interpretation the Beast's magnificent library.

However, Emma Watson's "Belle" isn't the same clueless princess as in the animated Disney movie. She said she reinterpreted Belle and made some practical changes, such as wearing proper boots instead of ballet slippers.

Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" will feature the same beloved characters as the animated film. It will also keep the original music, but added a few new song to give the movie an updated feel.

Emma Watson as Belle is said to be a perfect choice for the headstrong but kind-hearted lass. She is best known for her role as Hermione Granger, an exceptionally bright but muggle-born student at Hogwarts, in the "Harry Potter" series. She has since appeared in other films such as "Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "The Bling Ring."

The live-action adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" also stars Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, and Josh Gad. It is directed by Bill Condon and is slated to be released worldwide on March 17, 2017.
