"Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail, recently revealed that President-elect Donald Trump was the inspiration behind Evil Corp and all the other fascist elements in his hit TV series.
Prior to his unveiling of the show's inspiration, fans have speculated that Esmail was alluding to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton as the evil overlord.
However, when that information reached the showrunner of "Mr. Robot," he quickly denounced the misinterpreted allusion and said that he always thought of Trump as the real evil in the world.
Esmail posted a status on Twitter saying that when he wrote Elliot Alderson's (Rami Malek) speech about the one percent, he was really referring to Donald Trump.
In fact, he even shot most of Evil Corp's scenes in the Trump Tower. According to Curbed, the interior scenes of Evil Corp were shot at Trump SoHo in New York City. This only goes to show how much Esmail wanted to show his disdain for the real estate mogul.
Not surprisingly, Esmail is not alone in voicing his dismay at Trump and the recent presidential elections. Movie Pilot noted that the controversial comedian Dave Chappelle also launched his own counter-attack on Trump's presidency.
During his recent hosting stint at "Saturday Night Live," Chappelle gave a lengthy monologue which he ended with a demand on the newly-elected U.S. president that he gives every African-American a chance for a better life. In return he will give Donald Trump a chance to prove that he is worthy of the highest position he has attained.
Other people who decided to voice out their opposition of Trump's presidency, or at least most of his previous rhetoric, included "Star Wars" fans.
"Star Wars" fans started using the Alliance Starbird logo to show their support for immigrants who are now in danger of being deported under the Trump presidency.
The fans altered the logo wherein they fastened a safety pin on it, which alluded to those people who supported immigrants during the outcome of the Brexit results.
