"Real Housewives" Star Jules Wainstein And Michael Wainstein Divorce: Drug Abuse, Financial Issues And Custody Battle

The "Real Housewives" star Jules Wainstein and her estranged husband Michael Wainstein are in battle over the custody of their children, with the father claiming that Jules has a history of drug abuse. The Wainsteins appeared in the Manhattan matrimonial court on Wednesday for their second divorce hearing since "Real Housewives of New York" star and Michael ended their eight-year marriage in June 2016. Some of the issues that the lawyers addressed include financial support for Jules and custody agreement for their two kids Jagger and Rio.

According to E! News, The estranged husband of the "Real Housewives" actress is seeking full custody of their kids, claiming that his wife has a history of drug abuse. Justice Michael Katz slammed the allegations and demanded evidence for the alleged drug abuse and dismissed the lawyer's request for a drug test on Jules. The husband's side claimed that evidence have been submitted, recounting an incident in which Jules came home late, acting unusual and passed out while cooking food on the stove. Michael's lawyer Morghan Richardson also said Jules' rehab stint was for drug abuse and eating disorder.

Jules defended that the rehab was only for the eating disorder. The "Real Housewives" actress' legal counsel insists their submitted custody proposal is "very fair", considering Michael's busy work schedule. In their proposed custody agreement, Michael is allowed every other weekend and a weekday dinner with the kids. With regards to her request of $25,000 per month for spousal and child support, her lawyer says that her lifestyle suffered because Michael was not paying the bills and taxes over the past eight years of their marriage. During their first divorce proceeding, The "Real Housewives" actress was granted a temporary support in the amount of $10,000 per month.

Michael's lawyer confirmed that he has not paid taxes since 2008, but added to not take The "Real Housewives" star's financial filings of her soon to be ex-husband at face value. Michael's legal counsel points to The ' "quadrupling" spending while she was on the reality TV show to "keep up with her peers."

The Judge ordered Michael to pay Jules $10,000 per month for spousal and child support, but also said that he would review Michael's financial information and would reevaluate the figures. Before adjourning, He advised "Real Housewives" stars to settle the financial issue privately and more affordably.
