More 'Gilmore Girls' Episodes Coming To Netflix? What Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel Says Of A Renewal

The "Gilmore Girls" revival hasn't even launched on Netflix, but there are already specuations that more episodes could be produced. Stars Lauren Graham (Lorelie Gilmore) and Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) discuss the possibility of the show getting a renewal and making additional episodes.

When the "Gilmore Girls" revival was in development, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino always had the intention that the show would be a short special and not a full-blown series. Thus, "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," which will be launched on Netflix on Friday, Nov. 25, will only be made up of four 90-minute episodes -- "Winter," "Spring," "Summer" and "Fall."

But actress Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel feel that the "Gilmore Girls" revival won't end with just these four episodes. Speaking with Metro, the stars said that they are open to doing more of "Gilmore Girls" if it would be great for the show.

Lauren Graham even offered some ideas for what can happen in future episodes. "Perhaps we need to go back in time," the actress said. Vox notes that the upcoming special is already riddled with flashbacks, which somewhat changes the show's pace and storytelling.

Ultimately, the choice for more episodes of "Gilmore Girls" would be up to Amy Sherman-Palladino. How the show is received on Netflix when it launches could also be a factor in its potential renewal.

Airing from 2000 to 2007 on the defunct network WB, "Gilmore Girls" became a cult favorite and has maintained a strong following of fans even after it ended. The "Gilmore Girls" revival on Netflix will take place four months after the death of the Gilmore patriarch, Richard. Edward Hermman played the part in the series and he passed away in 2014.

Hermman's death was one of the motivation for the creator's intention to do the "Gilmore Girls" revival. "Ed's death sucked so much," Amy Sherman-Palladino said, according to TV Line. "I'm still angry about it."
