"Star Wars" fans shall expect new characters in "Star Wars: Episode 8." According to reports, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran are joining the cast.
Based on the latest report published in HNGN, there is no definite and clear information what roles the new cast will play. However, fans have speculated that the Oscar award-winning actor, Benicio del Toro will be the "man in black," a villain in the movie. The reason behind the rumors is when del Toro commented about his "villain" role ever since he was part of the "Star Wars: Episode 8" project. Since then, he already denied that he mentioned those statements. In an interview, he adds that he doesn't know what the people are saying, telling them that they may have read a different script.
Other reports suggest that the actor could be right and he isn't totally lying. They say that the "man in black" is not a complete bad guy in himself. It adds that Benicio's role could be similar to Lando Calrissian from the Empire Strikes Back.
This speculation is just a piece of the puzzle. There are still other possible scenarios on what the actor will play in "Star Wars: Episode 8."
On the other hand, Laura Dern's role is described as "aristocracy and fancy." It sounds vague and strange and fans are wondering how her character will be involved in the story. Despite the confusion and questions, Dern's role could be opposite of Leia Organa, played by Carrie Fisher.
The last new member, Kelly Marie Tran is rumored to play a love interest role with Finn. It has been confirmed by other reports that her character plays an important part in Finn's story.
There are no final statements from the production team, but one thing for sure is that the "Star Wars" fever is on. One month from now Rogue One is set to be out in the cinemas. It will be thrilling momentum after the first "Star Wars" standalone film will be release.
"Star Wars Episode 8" is projected to release in December 2017. Currently, they are on pace as they are now in the post-production stage.
