A family is not just about how many members are included in it. It's so much more than that and it all starts with a special bond between parents and their children. Support and affection are two supreme components of a family life but children who have no family could go through a lot of pain and suffering all their lives.
According to Time Magazine, almost 74 percent of children under the age of 18 are still living with two married parents and there has been a significant increase in the number of children who live with single mothers. The number of children living with two married parents has decreased in the past several years. But despite the trends of living alone and having children out of wedlock, the fact is quite promising that majority of them are still living with their parents.
A recent survey, however, showed a depressing reality in the state of Michigan, where five percent of the state's 111,230 population under the age of 18 are not living with a parent. As per MLive, foster carers usually fail to give a child what they need the most and that is a sense of belonging and understanding.
It is a known fact that it is very important for a child to live with parents, especially when it comes to what they can learn from them. When parents have a strong marital relationship, they are then best suited to an exemplary role model for their children.
Seeing their parents as good exemplars for them, children start learning to care, to respect, to share, to understand, to remain calm, to help and to coordinate with other people in the society. Hence, the children have a much stronger faith when it comes to building relationships with other people.
So much has been written about maintaining a healthy and balanced married life and some have said that arguments should not become a hurdle in the journey of marriage. However, there are certain issues that emerge that can lead to breakups and separations.
Even though some surveys reveal that people are getting more accustomed to living alone and marriages have become a lesser priority, the U.S. Census Bureau is providing an optimistic finding that majority of the American children are still living with married parents.
