Verizon is expected to provide internet data speeds far better than other service providers such as AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Word goes around that Verizon's iPhone 7 downloads slower than it should be.
As the latest iPhone model was released, so was the announcement of its two variations. We can recall that the new iPhone 7 has two suppliers for its modems - Intel and Qualcomm. News traveled fast saying that one of these variations is much slower than the other so the discrepancy about data speed is not totally new.
Twin Prime Inc. and Cellular Insights had the chance to speak with Bloomberg about the iPhone issue and expressed how these iPhones aren't performing to its capabilities. According to several reports, iPhone 7 models with Intel modems are slower than the ones with Qualcomm modems.
Bloomberg's new research opposes the allegations that Intel-powered iPhones are slower than those with Qualcomm. A field test was conducted between the iPhone 7 and Samsung's Galaxy S7, both runs on Verizon and both has Intel modem chips. The results are quite interesting
According to Bloomberg, Verizon's iPhone 7 runs a little faster than AT&T but not as fast as it could be. With the Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7 comparison test, Twin Prime found out that the S7 was twice as fast as the iPhone 7.
The reason for this confusion and discrepancy is not well-defined. Although, Gabriel Tavridis of Twin Prime suggests that the Verizon modem may not have enabled all its features. Apple replied saying that every iPhone model, specifically the new models iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, exceeds the company's performance standards.
This, for sure, will cause a commotion among customers as they will get curious as to why this drawback is existing. Will this affect Apple as far as sales are concerned? Comment below.
