Apple will begin its second global iPhone repair program as reports indicate the unexpected shutdowns of their iPhone 6S units. The tech giant announced replacement batteries will be given away for free.
Apple's worldwide iPhone 6S battery exchange program kicks off next week as increasing number of customer complaints piled up on the sudden shut downs of the iPhone 6S units. Amidst the remediation program, the Cupertino-based company assured users that the slight glitch only affects a very minimal number of iPhone 6S units, Ziff-Davis Network reported.
In line with safety issues, Apple strongly claimed that there is nothing to worry about it. As per PC World, the tech giant promised users that the iPhone 6S crisis is nothing similar to the explosive Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that caused quite a stir earlier this year.
Apple advised its iPhone users to visit the nearest Apple Store or any authorized Apple Service Center to get their iPhone 6S serials verified for battery replacement entitlement. Once authenticity is established, Apple will replace the battery for free.
Meanwhile, iPhone users who already spent for their iPhone battery replacement even before the world wide repair announcement need not worry. Apple said should any of these users be concerned about their iPhone being affected by the issue, they can also proceed to any Apple outlet to get their refund.
The company disclosed that the battery defect is traced back to iPhones manufactured sometime between September to October 2015. The tech giant requests customers to accomplish few tasks before proceeding with replacement. All users must back-up their iPhone 6S data and switch off "Find my iPhone."
On the other hand, Apple clarified that users need to foot and settle bills for any unrelated damage such as busted screens first before free battery replacement is made. Do you own an iPhone 6s? What are your thoughts on this Apple issue?
