Naya Rivera, Ryan Dorsey Divorce: What Prompts the 'Glee' Alum To File For Divorce? Find Out Here!

Former "Glee" star Naya Rivera shocked her fans after she and her now-estranged husband Ryan Dorsey have released a statement that they have decided to have a divorce. The two have been married for two years and share a child together.

The Los Angeles County Court confirmed the divorce filing, E! News reported. In a joint statement released by the two, they said that after much consideration, they decided to end their marriage adding that their priority will always be their one-year-old son Josey Hollis Dorsey. They noted that they will continue to be great co-parenting partners for their son and that they ask for respect and privacy for their family during this difficult time.

The divorce was filed on November 15 and Naya Rivera asked for primary physical custody over Josey while Ryan Dorsey gets visitation rights. It remains unclear what the cause of the break-up is.

Naya Rivera married Ryan Dorsey a few months after her infamous split with Big Sean, who she was engaged to before. Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey knew each other for four years and have dated briefly in the past. The two got married in July 2014 in a secret weeding in Mexico and welcomed Josey in September 2015, Los Angeles Times reported.

Naya Rivera recently published her memoir "Sorry Not Sorry" earlier this year and she revealed that she underwent a secret abortion while she was on "Glee." Weeks before she decided to get an abortion, Naya Rivera said that she and Ryan Dorsey have broken up. She gushed about Ryan Dorsey saying that when he knew about the abortion, he told her that he would have loved to have been there with her and hoped that he trusted her with such information.

Naya Rivera wrote of Ryan Dorsey's reaction, "I think it was the kindest and best thing that any man could have ever said in that situation. It just made me love him that much more, so I thank him for that."

The two are yet to reveal the cause of their split.
