‘Cars 3’ Movie Trailer & Release Date Updates: Latest Clip Reveals Darker Plot, A New Version Of Lightning McQueen [SPOILERS]

A sequel of a hit Disney and Pixar movie is coming in 2017 - the computer-animated "Cars 3." As the second instalment, "Cars 2," was shown five years ago, viewers would probably like to see the lovable character of Lightning McQueen once again. However, the first official trailer of "Cars 3" shows the stock car with human traits crashing and exploding. Is "Cars 3" going to feature a new McQueen and will it feature a dark story this time?

The recent trailer of "Cars 3" released by Pixar seems to suggest a darker storyline as posted in Forbes.com. If true, this is shift from the movie's light and funny theme which makes it different from other Pixar films that introduce heavy concepts such as sadness, death, and loss. This is probably the explanation for a tagline from the trailer that says, "From now on, everything will change."

Moreover, the old "Lightning McQueen that fans have come to love may not be back in "Cars 3" with the teaser showing the humanlike car in wreckage. Still, fans of this Pixar movie should not be disheartened as the film director, Brian Fee promises a more exciting plot as published in Morning News USA.

The article reveals the inclusion of a new character which will be a rival of Lightning McQueen, a newbie race car named, Jackson Storm. "Cars 3" will see Lightning McQueen strives to keep up with a new set of fast race cars spearheaded by Jackson Storm.

Actors who have voiced the characters in "Cars" and "Cars 2 will be back in "Cars 3" as well such as Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, and Larry the Cable Guy. The third instalment of Disney's computer-animated 3D movie, "Cars" is set to hit the screens in June 16, 2017.
