"Toy Story" fans were saddened when filmmakers announced that the fourth major installment of fan-favorite movie will be delayed by two years more. For every delay, surely there is a big reason, and the man behind the story of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the other characters of "Toy Story" revealed it.
Reason behind the Delay of "Toy Story 4"
"The truth is that every time we develop films, we always have five or six films privately that we're in the middle of developing," Andrew Stanton told Cinema Blend. "For economic reasons," the writer behind "Toy Story" added, "we end up having to announce sometimes when a film might be released, but then we go, 'Wait a minute, we want more time on the story to really nail it.'"
Prior to announcing the delay of "Toy Story 4" to June 21, 2019, it was first set to hit the cinemas June 16, 2017, and then was moved to June 15, 2018 as per The Hollywood Reporter. Surely, making the movie even more captivating and ensuring the quality of the animation and the story itself are reasons enough to move the release date of "Toy Story 4."
"Toy Story 4" Rumored Story Plot
Initially, it was rumored that the story of "Toy Story 4" will revolve around Woody and Buzz Lightyear going for a journey to find the former's love interest, Bo Peep. But then there's another twist to that journey that will make fans happy.
Remember that in "Toy Story 3," Andy gave away all his toys to his neighbors? The latest rumor indicates that Andy will try to bring all his toys back. How this twist will be connected to Woody and Buzz looking for Bo Peep is now up to the viewer's imagination.
Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios, "Toy Story 4" brings back Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively. "Toy Story 4" will still be directed by John Lasseter.
