The second season of "Stranger Things" is already confirmed this month and the Duffer brothers have already cast new characters to be part of the season. "Stranger Things" Season 2 is set to air in 2017, and the episode titles were also confirmed for the upcoming second season.
The young characters will be back on "Stranger Things 2" and the Duffer brothers have included comedy actor Brett Gelman to the cast. Gelman is set to play a disgraced journalist by the name of Murray Bauman, according to Empire. Murray will investigate a cold case in Hawkins, Indiana, and will set deeper insights about the conspiracies that were happening to the place.
Aside from Brett Gelman, "Stranger Things" also have cast new faces, including Paul Reiser, Sean Astin, Sadie Sink, Linnea Berthelsen and Dacre Montgomery. "Stranger Things 2" has already started shooting, however, the exact date of release hasn't been announced.
Along with Murray Bauman, other characters named Roman, Bob Newby and Dr. Owens will also be part of "Stranger Things" Season 2. Roman will be played by Linnea Berthelsen and is set to be an emotionally damaged character, a woman who suffered a big loss when she was a kid. Bob Newby will be played by Sean Astin and was Joyce and Hopper's school mate in high school. Dr. Owens will be played by Paul Reiser and is part of the Department of Energy who has an assignment that contains the events that happened last year.
Dare Montgomery and Sadie Sink are also the two new cast for "Stranger Things 2" and are set to join the young actors of the show. Montgomery is cast as Billy, the step brother of Max who drives a black Camaro with a bad boy, charismatic image. While Sink is set to play Max, a confident girl whose behavior is more typical of boys than girls. Max is fond of skateboard and is suspicious of everything that's around her.
"Stranger Things 2" will have nine episodes, contrary to eight episodes in the first season. The first episode will be "Madmax" followed by "The boy who came back to life," "The Pumpkin Patch," "The Palace," "The Storm," "The Pollywog," "The Secret Cabin," "The brain," and "The Lost Brother."
"The Pollywog" got fans speculating about it considering it is an actual tadpole that Will caught coughing in in the first season of "Stranger Things." Also, the last episode of "Stranger Things 2" entitled "The Lost Brother" has got the fans wondering whose brother that may be. Fans started suggesting on Reddit that it could be Eleven's biological brother or another character who will be involved with the mysteries that's been happening in Hawkins.
"Stranger Things" ended with Eleven (plays by Millie Bobby Brown) sacrificing herself to defeat the "demogorgon" that unfolded mysteries in Hawkins. Eleven will be back in "Stranger Things 2" and Brown has confirmed she is indeed coming back to the show.
The finale of "Stranger Things" showed Chief Jim Hopper leaving Eleven's favorite, Eggo waffles in the woods. David Harbour, who plays Hopper, has confirmed that the Eggo waffles were for Eleven, according to Telegraph. Harbour mentions that Hopper may have understood that during that time, Eleven exists in some kind of form. Eleven's father is also set to be a part of "Stranger Things" Season 2.
