"Watch Dogs 2's" seamless multiplayer goes live. The "Watch Dogs 2" community is hyped; however, the feature is still not fixed 100 percent.
"Watch Dogs 2's" seamless multiplayer was discovered by players who got an early copy of the game through Amazon Prime. A lot of players were wondering why the seamless multiplayer was disabled intentionally, and the page also contained a notice that the feature causes the game to lag and crash. At the peak of this controversy, Ubisoft released a statement that the seamless multiplayer feature of "Watch Dogs 2" will go live and will be fixed by the time of the game's official launch date on Nov. 15, but the feature was still disabled.
"Watch Dogs 2's" seamless multiplayer is supposed to be a new game feature, which separates the game from its predecessor. Everything in the game was working perfectly as expected except for that specific feature, until recently when the developers announced that the feature is live but not all activities are accessible since Nov. 24, 2016, at 8:30 am PST. The following features are fixed: bounty hunts can happen seamlessly without the multiplayer app, seamless hacking invasions, seamless DedSec events with other players, and seamless co-op mission invitations.
Neutral encounters, which Ubisoft considers as a minor feature is still disabled stating that: "will only be activated once we're fully comfortable with the performance of the core seamless online experience. This is the feature where you can randomly encounter other players on the street in your world as you explore," according to Ubisoft's Reddit.
Ubisoft's quick response to the problem may have saved the game from disaster, however, looking back previous Ubisoft releases, it seems that the company is launching incomplete games. Examples of Ubisoft's most notable past mistakes include: "Assassin Creed Unity's" troubling gameplay, "Watch Dogs" overdressed E3 footage, which happened again in "The Division," according to Forbes.
