While Square Enix has yet to announce an official release date for the third installment, a recent report claimed that fans won't necessarily have to wait long.
As producer Shinji Hashimoto recently confirmed, the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" will have significant clues about "Kingdom Hearts 3." As IBT reported, Hashimoto claimed that some parts of "KH 2.8" will be "strongly connected" to the highly anticipated third installment.
Fans won't have to wait long to get their hands on a new "Kingdom Hearts" game, as "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" is slated to be released on PS4 on January 24, 2017. Contrary to rumors citing that "Kingdom Hearts 2.9" will follow soon after, developers reassured fans that the "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date has already been pegged to come after "KH 2.8"
Previous reports already claimed that new Disney worlds and characters will be introduced in "Kingdom Hearts 3." Some of the mentioned characters include Elsa from "Frozen" and Baymax from "Big Hero 6" who will reportedly play a villain called Black Baymax, Chattsportsnet reported.
Others have started to speculated that a world dedicated to Disney animation "Zootopia" could also be created for the upcoming game since it the movie was warmly received in Japan. As some fans argued, game director and creator Tetsuya Nomura has made last minute changes to some games in the past, so it won't be impossible for him to do the same for "Kingdom Hearts 3."
