"Final Fantasy 7" remake release date updates suggest that the game still has a long way to go. But despite the uncertainty of Square Enix's newest title, fans are still waiting patiently for the remake which will have an episodic release.
Square Enix has previously shared that they are not keen on releasing any "Final Fantasy 7" remake details up until they've made big progress with its development. With this in mind, fans have started to speculate that more information could be revealed about the "Final Fantasy 7" remake once "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" is unveiled in 2017. Until then, fans would just have to be content with rumors they read online.
One of the most recent speculations made online involves the possibility of the "Final Fantasy 7" remake being an open world game. In a Reddit forum, fans weighed in on the possibility, and while majority really don't care if it will be an open world game or not, many believe that Square Enix will do away with that option for the remake.
Meanwhile, rumors are also heavy online that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake could be made compatible with the new PS4 Pro console. As Yibada reported, there could be some significant delay in the game's release date because of the overhaul it has to undergo to better suit Sony's new console.
Apart from teasing more upcoming details about the game, game director and creator Tetsuya Nomura has previously confirmed that the new game will have a new battle system that will reflect a more action-based gameplay.
