"Kingsman: The Secret Service" was a success in 2015 for its surprising and exciting spy action fare, grossing around $400 million. It's not a surprise that due to its success, a follow-up sequel will be made, and it's titled "The Golden Circle." "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" was originally announced to be released in June 2017.
A few days ago, Fox announced that "Kingsman 2" movie will be delayed and rescheduled for October 2017 release instead. The delay of the movie is set to gain an upper hand for "Wonder Woman," which is set to be released on June 2, 2017, according to Morning News USA. "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will now run the same weekend as "My Little Pony: The Movie" and "Blade Runner 2049."
The 20th Century Fox has been moving some of the movies' release dates, and "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is one of them, swapping with "Alien: Covenant" of Ridley Scott, which is now moving up to May 19, 2017, release, according to Cinemablend. Fox has also moved two Marvel movies for a release in November 2018 and February 2019.
"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" sequel shows Eggsy (played by Taron Egerton), Merlin (played by Mark Strong) and Roxy (played by Sophie Cookson) are transferring to the United States since the headquarters was destroyed. The group is set to team up with the Statesman, their American counterparts.
"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" introduces new cast including the movie's antagonist, which will be played by Julianne Moore. New Statesman agents will be featured and played by Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal and the head of Statesman, Jeff Bridges. Vinnie Jones and Elton John will also set to appear in "Kingsman: The Golden Circle."
Some of the actors from "Kingsman: The Secret Service" will reprise their roles including Edward Holcroft (who played Charlie Hesketh) and Eggsy's mentor, Colin Firth (who played Harry Hart). "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is now scheduled to release in theaters on Oct. 6, 2017.
