"Luke Cage" Season 2 star Mike Colter and co-star Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple) will their Marvel counterparts in full-on romance mode in the new Netflix series "The Defenders. While Luke Cage enjoyed a connection with Misty Knight (Simone Missick) and will eventually end up with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), for now Claire Temple will be foremost in the Harlem Marvel hero's heart.

Luke Cage and Claire Temple officially became close in "Luke Cage" Season 1 when the pair attempted to stem the fatal effect of the special bullet created by Willis Stryker (Erik LaRay Harvey), also known as Diamondback. At the same time, Claire Temple was also instrumental to Luke Cage surviving offensive manoeuvres by Cornell 'Cottonmouth' Stokes (Mahershala Ali), Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard) and Hernan 'Shades' Alvarez (Theo Rossi) as Parent Herald cites.
Luke Cage and Claire Temple were last seen in Season 1 sharing a bittersweet kiss before the Harlem hero was taken back to prison. Cage was once known as the wrongfully convicted criminal Carl Lucas, who escaped prison by faking his death.
According to Digital Spy, the romance between the "Luke Cage" couple will continue well into "The Defenders." Cage will not only reunite with Claire Temple and Misty Knight from his own series, but will also team up with Jessica Jones, Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) in "The Defenders." As an aside, "The Defenders" will definitely be a hot pot for Marvel characters with The Punisher (Jon Berthal) also set to cross paths with Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist in the new Netflix series.
Announcements for "Luke Cage" Season 2 confirmation and air date are pending at the moment, but should be released after the 2017 Netflix offerings of "Iron Fist" and then "The Defenders."
