US President-Elect Donald Trump Chooses Secretary Education: Who Is Betsy DeVos?

Donald Trump is busy selecting the administration and the choices are rumored to be inexperienced in their relevant fields. Just recently the President-elect chose Betsy Devos as the nation's education secretary.

Trump praised DeVos' brilliance and stated that the education reformer can bring a real change to the education system and make it beneficial for schools and children. According to USA Today, DeVos supported the choices of Republicans in terms of education and aimed at providing innovative ways of learning. DeVos, being a reformer also emphasized the importance of parents choices in schools for their children.

It was reported that DeVos' appointment is a step towards better education for both the children and their parents as she's the founder of The American Federation for Children (AFC). But the flaw analysts found the appointment of DeVos, who is the daughter in law of Amway Cofounder Richard DeVos, will be most likely to have business inclinations just like Trump.

With that said, skeptics note that such people can only encourage privatization of schools. However, that observation is yet to be seen as the newly appointed secretary has yet to assume the position.

Meanwhile, Forbes revealed DeVos is humbled to be selected as the United States' education secretary. She also accepted the challenges of the education system in the country.

DeVos also intends to improve the quality of education. In addition, DeVos' plan also aims to provide grounds for children to develop their potential to the fullest extent possible.

It's interesting to know that DeVos has never taken any role in public education but has been active in working for choices of school. Devos is a huge supporter of charter schools and voucher-based schools, which are run on funds given by businessmen.

DeVos' choices and previous experiences are currently sparking mixed reactions from the public. But it is yet to be seen what the new education secretary is capable of and what reforms could she proposed in the coming time.
