The cameras have started rolling for "The Good Fight," the spinoff to "The Good Wife." Set to run on the streaming platform CBS All Access by February 2017, several new players have been added to the spinoff. Some old players from the original series are also going to be in the first episode. Will Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) be expected?
Coming Soon confirmed that production of "The Good Fight" has started. Work has taken place in New York, which will serve as the Chicago-setting in the series.
Actress Christine Lahti shared her photo with one of the show's leads, Cush Jumbo, on Twitter. Another Twitter post also confirmed that the cast and crew of have been busy in the streets of New York City as filming gets underway.
Apart from Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn and Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart, "The Good Fight" will feature new characters like Rose Leslie (Maia Rindell), Delroy Lindo (Adrian Boseman), Bernadette Peters (Linore Rindell), Paul Guilfoyle (Henry Rindell), Justin Bartha (Colin) and Erica Tazel, according to CBS.
Returning to the series from "The Good Wife" are Sarah Steele as Marissa Gold, while Zack Grenier, Jerry Adler and Gary Cole will be featured in the pilot of "The Good Fight." Meanwhile, the verdict is still out for the return of favorite character Elsbeth Tascioni.
Carrie Preston, who played the character in the original series said that she has not been asked back just yet. "They certainly are well aware that I would be thrilled to come in if they want to bring me back," the actress told Culture Map, adding she will make time if the spinoff show needs her.
"The Good Fight" will have its first episode aired on CBS during the February 2017 premiere, after which, succeeding episodes will be subscription-based viewing via CBS All Access. The show has 10 episodes for the first season.
