Honey G became the latest contestant to be booted off "The X Factor UK" on Sunday evening, a week before the semi-finals round of the competition.
Tagged as this year's "joke act," the North West native lasted for a total of eight weeks, surpassing tough competition from the likes of Ryan Lawrie and Sam Lavery. She landed in the bottom two for the second week in a row, going up against 5 After Midnight in the sing-off.
Honey G wasn't as lucky as last week as Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh all voted to eliminate her from the competition. Her mentor Sharon Osbourne was the only one who backed her, having voted to eliminate Walsh's group in a bid to secure her act a place in the semi-final.
Honey G took her loss with stride, thanking the people behind the show and how much she enjoyed working with them. "This has been a completely life-changing experience for me," she said, according to Digital Spy.
For this week, Honey G performed two mash-ups: "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer and "Super Freak" by Rick James for the "Louis Loves" theme. She then chose to perform a mash-up of Salt n Pepa's "Push It" and Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane's "Black Beatles" for her second song.
One of Honey G's performances almost descended into madness after five stage invaders evaded security and managed to get on the stage to try and steal her trademark hat and glasses. While the invaders sent the judges and crew in a panic, Honey G remained calm and collected.
Cowell apologized for the incident, admitting that he thought that the invaders were part of the act at one point. Osbourne, on the other hand, tried to see the bright side of the incident by telling her act: "See, you drive people wild with excitement!"
A spokesperson for "The X Factor" revealed that all five invaders were in the audience, were questioned by police and security and thrown out of the premises, according to the Daily Mail.
