Earthquakes have been happening quite often recently. Many believe that this is a sign that various fault lines all over the world may be ripe for the next big one. San Andreas Earthquake according to earthquake analysts may be ripe and it is expected to be a big one.
According to Express, the next big one may happen in Los Angeles. Seismologists are concerned that tension may be building beneath the surface brought about by the many recorded relatively strong earthquakes that happened in the past six months.
Los Angeles may be the next target as it is the closest, densest city to the San Andreas fault line, thus being affected by the San Andreas Earthquake. Los Angeles is no stranger to strong earthquakes as they have had a fair share of it, alongside San Francisco.
Southeast Asia, South America and Europe, alongside the areas surrounding the San Andreas fault line may be in danger as well. Places in these areas, especially those included in Pacific Ring of Fire may experience the next big earthquake, maybe the same magnitude as the predicted San Andreas Earthquake.
Los Angeles have experienced a magnitude 5.1 earthquake back in 2014, felt the strongest in the town of La Habra. Experts say that there is still some strain after that tremor. It may be the same as the recent Fukushima Earthquake middle of this month believed to be an aftershock from 2011 magnitude 9 earthquake that hit the same region.
From that magnitude 5.1 earthquake in the La Habra town, it is reported that such tremor may have left enough strain to produce a magnitude 6 earthquake which already is relatively strong. This can also contribute to more strain triggering the big one produced by the San Andreas Earthquake.
As added by The Verge, there are two faults which make up the San Andreas fault line. The Hayward fault stretches from the tip of San Francisco Bay to the northern inland that forms San Pablo Bay. This is responsible for the big earthquake recorded in that area back in 1989 which literally destroyed the Bay Bridge.
The other is Roger Creek Fault from San Pablo Bay down to the wine country. At present, earthquake prediction is still impossible. No breakthroughs were made or discovered to predict any earthquakes. It is best to be prepared at all times, whether or not the town or city is in danger because of the San Andreas Earthquake.
