X-Men stars James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are set to reunite on the small screen by way of New Year's Eve special of "The Graham Norton Show" on Dec. 31 on BBC One.
McAvoy and Fassbender, who played Professor X and Magneto in the franchise, respectively, will sit on Norton's couch alongside Olympian rowers Gary and Paul O'Donovan, according to RTE. Other Olympians who will join the O'Donovans are cyclist Laura Trott, her husband Jason Kenny.
Those who are hoping that the two X-Men franchise stars will be discussing working together again in another X-Men movie will be disappointed. It was reported recently that 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the franchise, are working on a semi-reboot for the next film.
Additionally, McAvoy will appear on "The Graham Norton" to promote his new thriller film directed by M. Night Shyamalan called "Split." Fassbender, on the other hand, will be promoting his own new film "Assassin's creed alongside his co-star Marion Cotillard, according to Digital Spy.
The show will then conclude with a music extravaganza courtesy of Pete Tong and the incredible Heritage Orchestra. Before the New Year's Eve special, however, "The Graham Norton Show" assures that 2016 will end with a bang. Fans can expect the likes of Will Smith, Helen Mirren and Sherlock's Martin Freeman to appear on the show before the year ends.
The Christmas and New Year's Eve specials are still a long wait. So while waiting, fans will be treated to a star-studded feast this Saturday, Dec. 2 with Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Jamie Oliver and Emeli Sandé sitting on the orange sofa with Norton.
This isn't the first time that McAvoy and Fassbender have appeared together on "The Graham Norton Show," as both were guests two years prior to promote "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Watch the clip below:
