The NBA had separated the sheep from the goats this week and found two star players from the East and West Conference. The Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Love and the Golden State Warriors Kevin Durant were named as the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week for games played from Monday Nov. 21 to Sunday Nov. 27.
USA Today reported that Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Love had helped the Cavaliers to a 3-0 week and led the East with 30.7 points. Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Love had made 19 of his 29 three-point attempts which are 65.5%. But the highlight of Love's career came during Wednesday's game against Portland. Love scored an NBA record 34 first-quarter points as the second-highest total in any quarter in league history behind Klay Thompson, who scored 37 in the third against the Sacramento Kings on Jan. 23, 2015.
Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Love followed up his monster performance with two more strong games in wins over the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers. Love had a double-double 27 points and 10 rebounds against the Mavericks while shooting 7-of-9 from long range. Again, Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Love also recorded another double-double 25 points and 11 rebounds in Philadelphia. Love averaged as the best of the East with 30.7 points along with 9.7 rebounds per game while shooting 19-of-29 from long deep.
According to NBA, Golden State Warriors Kevin Durant, on the other hand, had helped the Warriors to a 4-0 week behind averaging 24.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.75 blocked shots. Durant connected on 9-of-18 attempts or 50.0 percent from three-point range.
On Nov. 23, Golden State Warriors Kevin Durant scored 28 points on 11 for 15 shooting from the field, added six rebounds and five assists in a 149-106 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Kevin Durant finished this week with 28 points, 10 rebounds, a career high of six blocks, and five assists as Golden State Warriors extended its winning streak to 11 games with 115-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 26.
