DC's upcoming "Justice League" movie may possibly be featuring a new DC character, Green Lantern. Reports have been spreading that Warner Bros. is considering adding Green Lantern to their lineup of JL heroes.
In the last DC movie "Superman vs Batman: Dawn of Justice", fans were given a glimpse of the possible lineup of the "Justice League". This was shown in the scene where Bruce Wayne views the data he stole from Lex Luthor.
According to the International Business Times, the initial lineup has been confirmed in the trailer that has been released for the movie. So far Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg have been confirmed to appear in the movie. Superman has not appeared in the trailer but the ending of the latest Superman movie somehow hints at his possible involvement.
No word has been heard of Green Lantern in the movies or the trailers, however, in the DC canon Green Lantern has been a long-time member of JL. Some fans will remember Ryan Reynolds version of the Green Lantern in the 2011 "Green Lantern" movie.
The "Green Lantern" movie did not break any box office records and has garnered some negative reviews from critics. Adding Green Lantern to the line-up will give the character a fresh start and hopefully better reputation than his previous incarnation.
With barely a year left until the "Justice League's" release date, more reports of possible characters will likely leak on the internet. For now, Warner Bros. has not revealed the full lineup of the movie that has fueled the anticipation for their superhero team movie.
DC may be lagging in terms of box-office records compared to Marvel, but Warner Bros. is hoping the movie would tip the scales in their favor. The expected release date of the "Justice League" movie is November 17, 2017.
