Nick Cannon spoke against Planned Parenthood in a recent interview and he didn't mince words when it comes to tearing the non-profit organization down. Here's what the "America's Got Talent" host has got to say against Planned Parenthood.
Cannon believes that Planned Parenthood endorses "population control" and promotes "modern day eugenics," Fox News reported (via Splash News). Eugenics is a set of beliefs and practices that aims to improve humans' genetic quality. Basically, eugenics controls which people in the population should bear children and become parents.
The 36-year-old TV personality criticized Planned Parenthood and its views on abortion in an interview with "The Breakfast Club" last week, saying that the reproductive health organization is carrying out "real genocide" on the African American community. Cannon also mentioned U.S. presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in his interview, stressing that she was "sneaking and cheating."
Cannon urged his audience to think about the things, which he claimed were unpleasant, that Planned Parenthood did to different communities. He insisted that "it's been like that for years."
Together with the American Civil Liberties Union and Center for Reproductive Rights, Planned Parenthood has been filing lawsuits against abortion laws in three states: North Carolina, Missouri and Alaska. Planned Parenthood claims that the states are enacting unconstitutional hindrances that make it hard for women to undergo abortions, The Washington Post reported.
All of the groups are worried about the incoming Trump administration. President-elect Donald Trump vowed to defund Planned Parenthood, opposed abortion, and promised to appoint anti-abortion judges in the Supreme Court. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, described these events as "the biggest threat" they have felt.
In other news, Beastie Boys' Adam "Ad-Rock" Horowitz teamed up with vegan footwear Keep to aid Planned Parenthood. Horowitz and Keep joined forces for "The Ramos Ad-Rock," a sneaker equipped with a "weather resistant, nylon cordura body" lined with "synthetic fleece and accented with channel quilted, silicon coated nylon," The Huffington Post reported.
The sneaker can be bought for $97 and has both black and magenta laces. All of the footwear's proceeds will benefit Planned Parenthood. The shoes can be pre-ordered here.
