A teenage boy from Fayetteville, North Carolina, is currently facing charges for the murder of his grandfather by using a hatchet. Police reports say that the culprit was even using an app to discuss what exactly he planned on doing with his late grandfather.
In an article published by ABC11, the 15-year-old boy planned to kill his grandfather and had it all discussed using an app called Kik with another unidentified person. The victim, Joseph Emmett Naulty, 63, was attacked with a hatchet by his grandson. The boy's plan in murdering Naulty went back in August of this year until he finally made it happen this month.
According to a report obtained by The Washington Post, the 63-year-old victim just moved in the boy's home earlier this year because his wife died in Alabama. His grandson was annoyed by him moving in and thought that he was just bringing inconvenience in the family. The teenage boy then acts on his plan in murdering Naulty and speculations about someone from the app KIK helped him did it rises. A person that goes by the username of Sporkus_the_wise was the last one the suspect was talking to regarding his plan of attack.
The app company is now being reached by the authorities asking them to give information about the identity of the said username behind this crime. Kik is based in Canada, and this is the first time their app was involved in a story like this.
The county arrested the teenager is facing charges as a juvenile since he is only 16 years old.
