Netflix Offers Exciting Original Series & Thought-Provoking Documentaries For 2017, Stars Include Elijah Wood, Robert Redford & Rooney Mara

Netflix is clearly rooting for an immensely successful 2017 by announcing a list of exciting TV series and documentaries aimed to satisfy the viewers need for high-quality shows. Aside from being a popular source for streaming content online, Netflix has crossed a milestone when they started offering original series such as "Bloodline," "Stranger Things, "and "Sense 8." So what kind of shows can the viewers expect from Netflix in the coming year?

As published in Screen Rant, Netflix has seven original offerings for 2017, which will be four TV series, one documentary feature and two documentary series. The announcement was done during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

As reported in The Futon Critic, one of the series to premiere in Feb. 24, 2017 is "I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore" which will star Elijah Wood, Melanie Lynskey, and Christine Woods. This series is about a miserable woman who after being robbed at home will find a new purpose in life by trying to find the thieves with the help of her not so nice neighbors.


Meanwhile, two series will debut in Mar. 2017, which is "Deidra & Laney Rob a Train" and "Burning Sands." Starring Steve Harris, Trevor Jackson, and Alfre Woodard, "Burning Sands" will delve inside a fraternity's hell week.

The "Deidra & Laney Rob a Train" is about two sisters who will find a way of living by robbing trains. The cast includes Rachel Crow, Ashleigh Murray, and Tim Blake Nelson. Then "The Discovery" set to debut in spring of 2017 is a love story with a twist as the setting features a world where the existence of an afterlife is proven. The actors in this series will be Rooney Mara, Robert Redford, and Jason Segel.

For documentaries, viewers can watch out for "The Mars Generation," "Abstract: The Art of Design," and "Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On. Are you excited about the Netflix program lineup for 2017?
