"Sing" will revolve around how Buster Moon will relive the theater to its former glory. To do this, Buster Moon has thought of producing a singing competition, which he aims to be the world's greatest competition. From the singing competition, five contestants will battle for the championship, namely a mouse (voiced by Seth MacFarlane), an elephant (voiced Tori Kelly), a gorilla (voiced by Taron Egerton), a pig (voiced by Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon), and a porcupine (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), Cinemablend reported.
"Sing" will highlight the five various top contestants who are all pursuing to improve the course of their lives. Johnny, the gorilla contestant is described to be a young gangster, who apparently wants to get out of his family's criminal offenses and live a decent life. Rosita, the pig contender is a mother of 25 young piglets while Meena, the elephant singer is a teenage contestant battling with a terrible stage fright. On the other hand, Mike, the mouse finalist is labeled as a smooth swindler and Ash, the rocker porcupine is struggling to become a soloist, trying to escape her cocky boyfriend.
According to a review by Deadline, moviegoers will have a grand time laughing and jamming as the movie features hilarious plots and danceable music. Buster Moon's lizard assistant, Miss Crawley (voiced hilariously by Leslie Jones) mistakenly added one more zero to the grand prize listed on the competition's flyers, announcing a $100,000 grand prize instead of just a thousand dollars, enticing all creatures in town to covet the six-digit prize.
"Sing" boasts of its incredible animation, lively musical entertainment and the heartfelt message that touches deep down the core. "Sing" is expected to take you out of your seats to dance in the aisles too.
Moviegoers will enjoy the more than 85 popular songs to be featured in the upcoming musical film "Sing." "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" director Garth Jennings has written and directed the new film. It was produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy.
