"This Is Us" fall finale aired on Tuesday and the show will be resuming with the second half of its first season on January 10 at 9 P.M. on NBC. The latest shocker in the "This Is Us" Christmas episode is Toby collapsing and possibly suffering a heart attack. Chris Sullivan, the actor who plays Toby on "This Is Us," talked more about what to expect regarding the character.
Sullivan pointed out that in telling a good story, there has to be ups and downs with the characters. He shared, "There has to be other tension and things introduced. But I don't know if we knew they were going to go this big this soon!" He also took to Twitter to start the hashtags "#PrayforToby" and "SaveTheToby" after the "This Is Us" Christmas episode aired, E! News reported.
After the "This Is Us" Christmas episode, the creator of the show, Dan Fogelman, also gathered with the stars of the series to discuss some things specifically the relationship of Rebecca and her daughter Kate. Fogelman said that women battling a weight issue is not only about the issue itself but also how thin the mother is or maybe how the mother tries to help the daughter but it comes out wrong.
Variety also reported that "This Is Us" has been well-accepted by audiences as the ratings continue to increase. The midseason finale is said to be at 2.8 for the 18-48 demographic. This is the series' all-time high and the number of total viewers is said to have reached 10.93 million.
