Anybody who grew up watching "DuckTales" would be ecstatic to know that Disney is bringing back the TV show this summer in 2017! Although its main audience may not be within your age bracket, nobody would literally stop you from watching the show to bring back your childhood memories.
"DuckTales" was first released on Sept 18, 1987, and became each kid's favorite TV show. Following the adventures of the Donald Duck and his uncle Scrooge McDuck, the "DuckTales" revival will show a different version of Launchpad McQuack, McDuck's grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Webby, and of course, Donald.
The storyline centers on Donald Duck after he decided to join the Navy and left his nephews to his Uncle Scrooge McDuck. Donald's uncle, known to be wealthy, hires a nanny for his grand nephews.
Webbigail "Webby" Vanderquack is the new character to join as series regular. She is Uncle McDuck's maid's granddaughter and she is considered to be the most reinvented character.
Although a bit modern and fresh, Disney managed to maintain the original feel of its classic episodes. As seen on "DuckTales" new art release, Disney altered and tweaked a bit of Launchpad McQuack's look but he still looks more or less the same.
The "DuckTales" teaser was recently released. Of course, with its theme song which every Disney fan is expected to know or be familiar with. Per Slash Film, Disney also retains the general feel of "DuckTales" on its arts.
So when will "DuckTales" be released back on the screens? Disney XD has not given any update as to the final date of its premiere but it is expected to come out next Summer, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"DuckTales", based on Carl Barks' work, will have 21 episodes which will last for 30 minutes each. It will also include specials to be shown for an hour or so. The specials are made to viewers who'd prefer to binge watch episodes.
The American animated television series executives include Francisco Angones of Wander Over Yonder, Ben 10's Matt Youngberg, and Gravity Falls' Sean Jimenez. We know the kid in you is giddy-excited about this revelation!
