We all have been hearing news and updates about "Limitless" Season 2 renewal but nobody really has the answer to all the questions surfacing every time a new issue arises. According to reports, despite CBS' confirmed decision to cancel the show, fans still look forward to its renewal hoping that a crossover with an AMC series is possible to happen.
We can recall that among the TV networks and streaming companies "Limitless" showrunners considered, Amazon stood out to be the only network cogitating about the series' renewal given that slight changes will be made to the series' plot. Networks such as NBC, FX, The CW, Amazon, and Netflix have been considering to pick up the series but found a hitch with its drug involvement in the plot.
As per Latin Post, negotiations are still ongoing for "Limitless" season 2. These negotiations include a possible crossover with AMC series "Breaking Bad".
Noting Jake McDornan's Brian Finch's escapades involving drugs and "Breaking Bad" lead Aaron Paul's Jesse Pinkman experience with the same substance, a crossover might be possible. Both characters have something in common which means a fusion of plots is easier to accomplish.
"Limitless" producer and actor Bradley Cooper, who in our previous reports have been greatly exerting his efforts for the renewal of the series, have not denied or confirmed the speculation. However, MNG suggests that he will no longer play his role in the series as he chose to devote his time to his pregnant significant other, Victoria's Secret model Irina Shayk.
This crossover theory also tackles Netflix being part of the team-up. Since both series are coming from different TV networks, showrunners are thinking of Netflix to carry out the plan.
We can recall in our previous report that Netflix has already declined the offer to air the series but due to the petition made by "Limitless" fans, there might be a spark of hope to sway the network's decision. As of this writing, the online petition in Care2Petitions has garnered 38,422 signatures approximately, running 1,600 short for its goal.
However, even if the petition will be successful in achieving its desired number of signatures, the final say will always come from Netflix and "Limitless" showrunners. What do you think about "Limitless" plan of doing a crossover with "Breaking Bad"? Keep posted for more "Limitless" updates!
