‘La La Land’ News & Review: Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling Hits Box Office

“La La Land” 2016 is one of the most successful films of the year. It hit the box office this weekend with $855k. So what makes the film so mesmerizing aside from Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling?

Though this is not the only test for the film, it also has to surpass next week. The film will open on more than 200 locations and will extend to more than 40 markets as Christmas nears, Forbes reports.

It doesn’t stand different from other musical films. However, the most vital part that other musical films overlooks and that “La La Land” focused on is its plot.

It opens with the busy and bustling streets of L.A. which viewers won’t see again. Fortunately, the focus is Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling). Here, the two of them, just like all the dreamers end up dreaming together in L.A.

Mia is a wannabe actress and Sebastian is a jazz pianist who’s also passionate about his craft. the “La La Land” follows a year of ups and downs of the two characters.

With the hit weekend box office, many consider that the film has a chance to win the best picture. The romance musical film starts with Mia and Sebastian mocking each other. However, as the film progresses, the two gets the best chemistry.

The two gets a clear attraction and ,even though they’re singing separately, they still have that couple-chemistry in the big screen. For Stone and Gosling, though they’re not naturally singers and dancers, it’s evident that they’ve committed themselves for the film, and it clearly shows, Roger Ebert reports.

Overall, “La La Land” (2016) serves as a reminder that there is still magic in movies. It serves as a reminder that films can still make us believe in the magic in each and everyone of us.
