The epic "Mass Effect" series from Bioware has become as big as the game's universe itself. The upcoming "Mass Effect Andromeda" with the initial release date in March 2017 will be accompanied by a three codex transcribed by four of the best wordsmiths of our time.
Titan Books already announced the publication of the novels last April though their "Fiction Rights Guide" released during the 2016 London Book Fair. The description of the novels states that: "The novels will act as prequel and sequels to the events in the games and will become part of the overarching Mass Effect saga. They will focus on key characters and answer the many questions fans have been asking." The Mass Effects novels are said to contain some of the frequently asked questions related to the series in book form.
According to PC Gamer, what supposed to be four novels of Mass Effect was reduced to three, shelving the fourth novel which was supposed to be written by Bioware's creative director Mac Walters, bookworms need not worry though since the remaining three novels will be written by 4 of the best award-winning writers in the industry.
The first installment is called "Mass: Effect Nexus Uprising" which will be written by Jason M. Hough and K.C. Alexander with a scheduled release on March 28, 2017. The second novel called Mass Effect Annihilation will be transcribed by Catherynne M. Valente, a multi-awarded writer of the Labyrinth. The third novel is called Mass Effect: Initiation by N.K. Jemisin who's a recipient of the Hugo Award for Best Novel.
A novel tie-in with a video game could be a good idea due to "Mass Effect's" huge universe. Mass Effect Andromeda's storyline is focused on the new area and timeline with a gap of 600 years from the Mass Effect Trilogy. What better way to explain the past 599 years than a trilogy of novels.
