The 74th "Golden Globe Awards" is all set to honor the best movies, TV shows, and actor performances of 2016. Excitement for the upcoming awards night grows stronger now that the complete list of nominees for the 2017 "Golden Globe Awards," has been announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Likewise, people are now ready to start speculating who among the nominees will emerge as big winners and names such as Emma Stone, Casey Affleck, and Natalie Portman are expected to bag the top awards.
As posted in IMDB, the musical comedy "La La Land" and the drama film, "Moonlight" got the most nominations. For television, most nominated series tag goes to "The People v. O.J. Simpson" with five nominations.
The nominees for the best movies in the drama category are "The Hacksaw Ridge," "Hell or High Water," "Lion," "Manchester by the Sea," and "Moonlight." While the nominees for Best Comedy Films are "Deadpool,"" Florence Foster Jenkins," "La La Land," "Sing Street," and "20th Century Women."
The contenders for best actress in a drama film are Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain, Ruth Negga, Natalie Portman, and Isabelle Huppert. While best actress in a comedy film include Annette Bening, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Lily Collins and Hailee Steinfeld
The best drama actor nominees include Casey Affleck, Joel Edgerton, Andrew Garfield, Viggo Mortensen, and Denzel Washington. For comedy films, the best actor nominees are Colin Farrell, Ryan Gosling, Hugh Grant, Jonah Hill, and Ryan Reynolds.
As to who will be the winners, Bustle has fearless predictions by saying that the best actress for a drama movie will most likely go to Natalie Portman for her effective performance in the movie "Jackie." The best actor trophy, on the other hand, will go to Casey Affleck for the film, "Manchester by the Sea."
The awards for best actor and best actress in a comedy are also expected to go to "La La Land" stars, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Still surprise winners can also be Ryan Reynolds and Meryl Streep. The award for best motion picture for drama will go to "Manchester by the Sea" although the film "Moonlight" has a good chance as well.
