Fast and Furious 8 trailer, which is titled “The Fate of the Furious,” just broke a new record. The results showed that Universal’s efforts in promoting the film just earned the best reward.
Within 24 hours, the trailer of the movie already has 139 million views, and it dethroned “Beauty and the Beast.” This million views can also be attributed to the strong social media following of Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
There were 32 million views coming from the videos shared by the stars of the film. In the United States alone, the views of the film’s trailer from Facebook and YouTube reached up to 38.8 million, Cinema Blend reports.
Considering that “The Fate of the Furious” is already the eighth film in the Fast & Furious franchise, can they still offer more? Well, a sure answer is that it will still be about family.
The family has been the top priority of the seven films, and it sure will still be now. The trailer already mentions the word family four times, so it will clearly be about it.
Here, the story line focuses on Vin Diesel as he gets into the dark side, again. The Rock and Jason Statham, who was one of the bad guys before, will have to work to bring Diesel down.
Though the story line and explosions aren't new to the audience and fans of the Fast Furious franchise, it still offers some surprises in the trailer. One of the surprises is Charlize Theron who plays like a high-tech terrorist, The Guardian reports.
It’s either Dom (Diesel) is being blackmailed, or it could be that Cipher (Charlize Theron) had already taken him to the dark side. Fans will have to wait for the film to get the answers.
