Snapchat Now Has Group Feature Plus Two New Tools; An Added Bonus Too!

Snapchat surprised its users as they have unveiled the long-awaited "Group" feature that allows users to add up to 16 friends sharing conversation and media. As an added bonus for the holiday season, they have also included two more new tools: the scissor and the paintbrush.

Now, you can send your best pictures or "snaps" to your groups of friends on Snapchat using the "Group" feature. According to AdWeek, Snapchat's new feature lets users create a group chat with as many as 16 friends. However, these specific group chats are deleted by default within 24 hours. Further, snaps within the groups can be opened and replayed by each group member once. But once they are not opened, they also are deleted within the 24-hour period.

Also, Highsnobiety noted that users can send directly a message to a specific friend within the group chat using the "quick chat" function. This allows the user to avoid spamming everyone in the group. Further, all other features in Chat are supported in the group feature. This is inclusive of vote and video notes, stickers, Bitmoji, and more.

For composing Snaps, two new creative tools are added by Snapchat. The Scissors allows users to cut out a part of the Snap in the preview screen and turn it into a sticker, which can be found in the sticker drawer. Meanwhile, the paintbrush can be applied to Snaps in Memories. This tool is similar with the artistic filter apps like Prisma, per TechCrunch.

As the cherry on top, the Shazam support is a newly added feature in Snapchat. This is built right into the Snapchat camera and lets users identify the music playing right within the app.
