One of the many reasons why newborn babies cry is that they need sleep. Soothing a crying newborn infant back to sleep can be a gut-wrenching experience for parents. That is why an increasing number of parents today are hiring 'professional baby sleep trainers.' The professional instructors train parents on how to put their babies to sleep.
Some would think it looks easy to put tired babies to sleep, anywhere, anytime. However, it is harder for them than adults may realize. Rather than sleeping comfortably, babies might cry and fuss, particularly when they are super tired. And this can be overwhelming to some parents.
That is why some parents today are outsourcing the job of helping babies get to sleep through getting the service of professional baby sleep trainers, according to WFMY News2. One mom clarified to WFMY News2 that it is not like the baby sleep coach will come in and do the right thing. The mom explained that the trainer would come in and teach the parents to do the right thing.
The trainers would usually give parents confidence and support to fix problems. They also talk so many things about getting babies to bed sleepy but awake.
Pro baby sleep trainers' advice to a parent is very practical: follow the guidelines of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development for safe sleep. The instructions include "dressing the baby in 'sleep clothing,' like a one-piece sleeper, always putting the baby on her or his back to sleep and using a safe sleep surface like a mattress at a safety-approved baby crib, for naps and sleep at night. "
Sleep consultant and former infant nurse Vivian Sonnenberg also points out consistency is the main key. She said a good sleep plan for parent includes putting the baby down at the same time every night.
