A Florida woman is selling her positive pregnancy sticks online to make a quick buck. She posts her advertisements on the Jacksonville Craigslist, where she proposes a "no questions asked" deal. She says she needs the money to help with her college tuition and business has actually been brisk.
"I am 3 months and I am providing a product in which the consumer is able to purchase positive pregnancy tests or urine for your own use," the Florida woman says on her Craigslist ad, which has since been flagged and removed, according to UPI. The positive pregnancy sticks go for about $30 and some interested buyers have even traveled to Florida to close the deal with her.
The Florida woman, who remains unnamed, admitted that she got the idea from the internet. Looking for a job to do at home while pregnant, she found out that there are some women who sell their pregnancy sticks online and it's quite the easy money.
Earnings of $200 a day can be pretty common for these pregnant girls, according to Action News Jax. Some buy the sticks to use as pranks or to trap someone into marriage.
Law expert Dale Carson points out that there is no specific law that makes selling urine illegal, according to Count On NBC 2. But the "business" has sparked some controversies as it can be seen as fraud on the part of those who buy the pee sticks. "This is the kind of thing that makes legislators go -- we need to pass a law to say you can't do this," Carson said.
The Florida woman, however, believes that she has made the smart move to sell her positive pregnancy tests. She is using the money to pay for her college tuition and not for anything else.
