Teen lovers from Massachusetts have become Internet sensation for the 'strange' selfie photos they posted on social media. Netizens started commenting the two look exactly the same in most of their face features, having the same eyes, smiles, hair and noses. The teen couple though asserts they're not any blood related.
Edgar Pareves and Yamily Vazques, both age 17, of Massachusetts have been together for four months and neither of them realized that they look almost identical twins. On the celebration of their four-month anniversary last Wednesday, the two took a cuddly selfie together in bed and then shared it on Twitter.
In the photo, Pareves is positioning at the back of Vazques and the she's stretching back and grasping his ear. The couple can be seen also both smiling widely and it is promptly noticeable that the two have the same nose, mouth and eyes. At the position they are in, even the strands of their hair look the same.
The picture went viral immediately. Netizens started pointing out that the teen sweethearts look almost identical twins. Some commenters argued that the two may be actually sister and brother, while other people thought they were glancing at a face swap.
The high school lovers told BuzzFeed that it is not the first time netizens have mistaken them for twins or siblings. Pareves said netizens point out their similarity "all the time."
"In the pictures we take together, people will say that," Yahoo quoted Pareves as saying. "But usually in our day-to-day life, people have gotten used to it."
Varquez also said they did think the photo was funny and expected that people will say they look the same. The two did not really expect the huge response; however they have been having good time laughing at the whole thing.
Though a lot of people are pointing out their similarities, Pareves insisted that they are not blood related "at all." Pareves also added that he really doesn't think they look that much the same, but there are some resemblances.
