‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Spoilers Reveal How Filming Of Sex Scenes Were Artistically Done

The highly anticipated "Fifty Shades Darker" is soon hitting the theaters and reports continue to circulate about how the upcoming installment will surpass the previous phenomenal hit "Fifty Shades of Grey." Fans have been talking about the anticipated full frontal scene of star Jamie Dornan (playing the role of Christian Grey) and still crave for more intense, erotic scenes. The erotic scenes teased by the trailer seem so real, but are they actually real?

The steamy love scenes in the previous sequel "Fifty Shades of Grey" seemed to appear very real on the big screen. The new trailer for the new sequel "Fifty Shades Darker" also teased steamier love scenes. The intimacy portrayed by the lead stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson (playing the role of Anastasia) even led to rumors that the two has turned into real lovers. The wife of Jamie Dornan was also rumored to have been very jealous.

In the upcoming sequel, more sex scenes are expected to be featured and speculations continue to hype up the secret love affair of the lead stars because of these hot scenes. Although the sex scenes seem to look very realistic, reports now clarify that it was not as intimately done as people thought it was executed.

Film cinematographer Seamus McGarvey explained that although people can see that the intimate scenes look real, the scenes were just technically produced to look real. Post production plays a significant role in making it look real plus some acting tricks.

Another factor is that, the lead actors were just so effective to portray the role so audience cannot really tell what is real from what is not. The film cinematographer detailed that they made use of modesty covers for the private parts of Dornan while Johnson has covers around her whole body, like body stockings as shield. The actors used a patch as covers, and post production ensures the covers are not visible on screen and adds the necessary details, to replace the covered parts.

Moreover, although the movie is known for not just one sex scene, the actors do not necessarily shoot several times. Production does the trick in featuring more sex scenes. According to MacGarvey, they use two cameras in taking the shot simultaneously for sex scenes. The two cameras will duplicate the sex scene, as it takes various angles and the actors are no longer required to repeat the scene.

Furthermore, fans may see the butt of Dakota Johnson exposed in the upcoming "Fifty Shades Darker." However, the cinematographer revealed it was not Dakota's. The actress actually has a butt double. It was also mentioned that they use pillows in between the actors when they simulate the sex scenes, OK! reported.
