Did you like the character of Saw Gerrera (played by Forest Whitaker) in "Star Wars" movies? It seems that fans of the franchise will get to see more of this character in the future sequels as Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has talked about their future plans for Saw Gerrera.
Fans have seen Saw Gerrera when he was first introduced in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." The character appeared again in the recent sequel "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Saw Gerrera is the one who mentored Jun Erso (played by Felicity Jones) during her childhood years. Reports are now saying that fans will continue to see this character in the future sequel of "Star Wars."
According to Empire Online, Kathleen Kennedy shared how extremely intrigued they are with the arc of Saw Gerrera. She even vouched for this character in fitting well into the "Star Wars" plot.
The president admitted that they originally planned to develop Saw Gerrera into a more significant character but things were not accommodating yet. However, the president took this as a good opportunity for them to explore further in the future sequel.
Unfortunately, Kathleen Kennedy did not reveal in which installment they have planned to include Saw Gerrera again. However, Movie News Guide speculates that this character will most likely reprise his role in "Star Wars: Episode 9" or in a potential sequel to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
Meanwhile, Forest Whitaker also shared his excitement about his character Saw. The actor said he is curious about the plans of the filmmakers for Saw. Considering the president's delight on the character of Saw, Forest Whitaker said it is a great thing that they really like the character, which makes him more excited about Saw's future in the franchise.
Forest Whitaker also detailed the backstory of Saw Gerrera. According to the actor, Saw has trained with Anakin Skywalker, Obi-wan Kenobi and Padawan Tano. The actor further quipped that all these trainers have blended beautifully with Saw's character.
