More spoilers have surfaced regarding the upcoming season 4 of "Reign." Fans can expect the series to explore more on the chaotic love life of Queen Mary (played by Adelaide Kane) as well as the intense pursuit of power.
Showrunner Laurie McCarthy revealed to Yahoo! TV that the upcoming season 4 will continue with the show's theme which revolves around power and the cost it will take to sustain it. The new season is yet to reveal who will gain or lose power when the series returns next month.
Season 4 will also highlight more on Mary's love life. McCarthy mentioned that Mary's pursuit of finding a new husband has ended. Mary's second husband, Lord Darnley will try to fit into the equation and his arrival spells trouble as he is also hungry for power.
McCarthy also noted that Mary's third husband, Lord Boswell will come into the picture too. The showrunner promised that fans will witness "how scrappy Mary is" and how she will fight hard for her child and the people under her care.
Furthermore, McCarthy did not disclose if fans will see the demise of Mary in season 4. Fans will have to wait and see the fate of Mary in this upcoming season.
Meanwhile, the synopsis posted by SpoilersTV reveals that Queen Mary has decided in her heart to take vengeance on the death of Lola. In the process, Mary will need to verify who is taking her side in this revenge.
In the upcoming episode 1 of "Reign" season 4 titled "With Friends Like These," Mary is not confident on who is loyal to her. Upon hearing her brother James' (played by Dan Jeannotte) meeting with John Knox, (played by Jonathan Goad), she is no longer sure if James is still on her side so she will test him.
The synopsis also reveals that Queen Elizabeth will try to sabotage Mary's relationship with Lord Darnley. In this regard, Elizabeth will pretend to agree to be of great help to Lord Darnley. Unfortunately, the report did not detail how the queen will help the latter.
"Reign" season 4 will premiere on Friday, Feb. 10 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
