The movie "Run The Tide," when it was first released on Dec. 2, 2016, did absolutely devastatingly not well. The movie did not sit well with critics, with many of them not having a single good word for the film.
The movie "Run The Tide" is about how a brother kidnaps his younger sibling to escape their drug dependent mother. They both escape their desert home for the California coast to start living again, without their mother.
The movie stars Taylor Lautner as the lead star. He is also joined by Constance Zimmer, Kenneth Johnson, Johanna Brady, Nico Christou and many more according to Movie Insider.
The movie is directed by Soham Mehta and is written by Rajiv Shah. Apparently, both may not have done their best to give justice to the movie. However, this is based on critics' general feedback. Others are also reported to like the movie. It may just lack the necessary ingredients for a well-executed movie.
As added by Rotten Tomatoes, the movie "Run The Tide" received an impossible zero for its rating. It also had an average of 3.6 points out a possible 10. This absolutely the lowest the year 2016 has ever seen.
However, not to dampen the spirits of people behind the movie, it had 61 percent rating from viewers. This means 61 percent said that they liked the movie. At least this is over the 50 percent mark which is all not bad, however, this still belongs to lower ranks for 2016.
Hollywood Reporter's Frank Scheck who is also a top critic said that there's more ebb than flow in this formulaic indie drama. A different way to describe this film, comparing it to a menstrual flow.
Dennis Harvey of Variety said that the movie "Run The Tide" is competently crafted but uninspired. At least there is a good word for the movie, only suggesting that it can do much better.
