'Absentia' With Stana Katic Books 5 More Actors, Who's Joining The 'Castle' Star In Her New Show? [CAST PHOTO]

"Castle" star Stana Katic is up for another TV show. Entitled "Absentia," the series will star the former network TV cop as an FBI agent this time and she will find herself in a strange situation.

Announced as in development back in the fall, "Absentia" is scheduled to film soon and will launch on AXN worldwide in 2017. As production is about to roll overseas, Deadline reports that five other actors have been cast to join Katic and her leading man Patrick Heusinger in the series.

Angel Bonnani ("Shots Fired"), Cara Theobold ("Downton Abbey"), Bruno Bichir ("Narcos"), Neil Jackson ("Sleepy Hollow") and Ralph Ineson ("The Witch") are joining "Absentia." Their roles have not been divulged, but they are expected to fly to Europe for the filming location.

On Instagram, however, Jackson recently posted a photo of himself with Katic. He mentions that he's playing her TV brother.

The series follows Katic's character, a wife and mother who is a dedicated agent, as she tracks down serial killers. But she disappears while doing her job and resurfaces in a cabin six years later. She has no memory of her former life.

She also learns that her husband (Heusinger) has a new wife who has come to be the mother her child regards because everyone thought she died. Worse, her character becomes embroiled in serial murders and she has to prove her innocence.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Absentia" will be a 10-episode show with Matt Cirulnick as executive producer. Oded Ruskin has been tasked to helm all of the episodes.

TV Line reports that while the series will be internationally released on the AXN cable networks, it has yet to find a U.S. channel. Fans of Katic in North America have been longing to see the star's next projects after "Castle" was cancelled after eight seasons.

Before the cancellation, the actress expressed that she was no longer interested in doing another season and has been eyeing other work. Stay tuned for more about this show on this site!
