Dealing With Daughter's Boyfriend? What Overprotective Fathers Can Learn From Jamie Foxx

Other than being an Academy-award winning actor, Jamie Foxx is also a dad of two daughters, Corrine, 23, and Annalise, 8. As a father to two girls, dealing with boyfriends is a given and the actor admitted that he's been "threatened" by the presence of his older daughter's boyfriends before.

Foxx acknowledges that Corrine is a stunning young woman and has even been picked as last year's Miss Golden Globes. As with all dads, his first instinct is to be overprotective of her from men who could hurt her or break her heart.

But Foxx realizes that he doesn't have to worry about the boys that Corrine dates because his older daughter has "a good head on her shoulders," Huffington Post reports. "That's what you got to hope for, that your kid turns out cool so it's not so much work," the actor reveals.

All he wishes for the guys his two girls end up with is that they appreciate his daughters as much as he lets them be who they want to be. The "Sleepless" actor says he always reminds his girls to know their worth and let no one else, especially boyfriends, put them down.

Foxx confirms that Corrine is dating "a nice gentleman." He calls Corrine a late bloomer in the dating scene but it's not the same case with his youngest, who already has a boyfriend in elementary school. "You see them holding hands," the father said, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Foxx also realizes that his daughters are different from each other, so his way of dealing with boyfriends is also different. He constantly has to remind his romantic youngest daughter that "not all the love is real."

But he admits he loves it when he has to talk love and romance to his girls. He clues them in on the male perspective of dating, based on his own experiences.

"That's the fun part of it, is taking what you know, what you've gone through," Foxx said. Watch the actor dish more advice about fatherhood in the video below.
