Starting today, April 27, search engine giant Google is relaunching its most popular and interactive Google Doodle games from past doodles every day. This move is to promote self-quarantine and prevent people from coming out of their houses to help lessen and possibly stop the further spread of the virus.
Google came up with a series of ten doodles, all from a throwback to one of its popular games. The first one is the famous "Coding for Carrots" game from 2017. This game was made to celebrate 50 years of Kids Coding, which was the first programming language designed to be used by the children.
How to Play "Coding for Carrots"
To play the game, the player will have to combine commands by moving different command tiles into the program code tray to make the rabbit collect carrots. The game was created previously to help make kids become interested in coding.
The game features a young kid being the letter "O" from the word Google and is sitting on the computer playing games.
A message "Stay and Play at Home with Popular Past Google Doodles" will appear on the screen upon hovering the mouse pointer to the doodle. It is to encourage people to stay at home to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
All the other Doodle games that the company is planning to bring back are still currently hidden behind the screen, saying, "Coming Soon."
Google's Motive for Relaunching the Game
Google said in a public post that since the virus continues to affect communities across the globe, families everywhere are isolating in their own homes. Thus, the company is launching a throwback Doodle series to look back at some of the most popular interactive Google Doodle games.
The search engine giant thanked all the frontliners, including teachers, doctors, delivery boys, cleaners, etc. in its previous doodles because of doing their best to protect and help cure people that have been affected by COVID-19. A pop up thank you note to all the coronavirus helpers appears when you hover your mouse pointer to the doodle.
The Number of Coronavirus Cases are Still on the Rise
As of writing, the number of coronavirus cases around the world has already reached 2.9 million, with 200 thousand deaths. Thankfully, there are already 881 thousand people who have recovered from the disease.
More than 980,000 of the cases come from the United States of America, followed by Spain with two hundred twenty-six thousand and then Italy with one hundred ninety-seven thousand.
There are already 55 thousand deaths in the US.
If you and your kids are bored from self-isolating for a month now, keep yourselves from coming out and grab this opportunity to play and spend more time with your little ones.
