"The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II" to Launch on Mother’s Day

After the inauguration of "The Disney Family Singalong" comes a follow-up special which will be aired on Mother's Day, May 10, at 7 PM EDT.

According to ABC, the sequel, which will be hosted by the returning Ryan Seacrest, will include all-new star-studded performances of beloved Disney melodies with inventive at-home choreography, plus, more Disney magic.

On-screen lyrics will also be guided by an animated Mickey so that families can sing along with the well-known Disney melodies. Celebrity guests and performances will soon be announced.

The aim of the follow-up special is to raise awareness about the organization Feeding America's wide network and resources that help feed people who are facing hunger for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic, said the network.

After the all-new remotely recorded episode of "American Idol" that is airing at 8 PM EDT, the ABC's Sunday Night programming block will include the follow-up special. It will be available for streaming on Disney+ days after its premiere night, which will soon be determined.

Produced by Done+Dusted, "The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II" includes Done+Dusted's Hamish Hamilton, Katy Mullan, and Raj Kapoor as its executive producers.

On April 16, "The Disney Family Singalong," with 10.30 million viewers, garnered a 2.6 rating in adults with a demographic of 18 to 49. Included in the individual featured stars are Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Alan Menken, Josh Groban, Elle Fanning, Tory Kelly, Darren Criss, Christina Aguilera, Bobby Bones, Erin Andrews, Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Buble, Luke Evans, Auli'i Cravalho, Jordan Fisher, Josh Gad, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Donny Osmond, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, Amber Riley, and John Stamos.

According to the CEO of Feeding America, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the grand event "The Disney Family Singalong" was produced to unite millions of households across the country. It aims to fill everyone's hearts with joy and song while also providing the much-needed nourishment to fight off the hunger of the less fortunate.

Adding to that, she said that they could not thank Disney enough for their enduring support because, as an incredible collaborator for nearly a decade, "The Walt Disney Company" has provided grant funding for network food banks.

In October 2019, the company contributed $500,000 to support funding for sources and increased the number of nutritious meals for children and families. The funds were distributed to more than 30 Feeding America network member food banks around the US.

Feeding America is the nation's largest hunger-relief and food rescue organization. It has a network of 200 member food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs. Annually, they provide food assistance to more than 40 million people.

In 2018, more than 1.5 billion pounds of fruits and vegetables were secured by the organization, and it has plans on outdoing itself in the future.
