Four-year-old girl, Blake McLennan, has had enough of the coronavirus pandemic. In a two-minute video on Twitter, Blake is seen ranting about how the virus shuts down her favorite places.
The video quickly became viral. Netizens have different opinions on Blake's rant, but most of them said it is relatable. There are some, however, who commended Blake's parents.
The viral video
The video was posted by Twitter user @NguSpesh, and only after a few days, it already got more than 7 million views.
When you are 4 years old and lockdown is starting to frustrate you pic.twitter.com/sZ92h9v9Ax — Shukela (@Ngu_Spesh) July 9, 2020
Blake was very frustrated with the coronavirus pandemic. She was sobbing while ranting about how it has affected her life, especially her favorite places. She said, "The ice cream truck is shut down. The water jug place is shut down, which is my favorite one."
What makes her even sadder is that her favorite place is closed. She continued ranting, "We can't go anywhere, not even McDonald's, my favorite restaurant."
However, a guy behind the camera explained to Blake that they could still purchase food at McDonald's via drive-thru. But the four-year-old girl disagrees that the drive-thru is okay. Blake said, "It's just really frustrating if you go through the drive-thru; it's just boring because you have to wait for your food to come."
Blake says the drive-thru lacks all the fun, which is at the restaurant's playground. She emphasized, "And when you're inside playing in the playground, it's not boring."
Then, the four-year-old girl asks why the virus is sticking around, even when no one likes it, "Why do germs go around the people when they don't want germs to go around them?" Finally, the four-year-old declares, "And the only thing that is open is nothing."
Netizens' reactions
Aside from having more than seven million views, it was also retweeted more than 80 thousand times. Most of those who saw the video said they could totally relate to Blake.

Some Twitter users commended her excellent points and how articulate she is in expressing her feelings.
It's amazing how articulate kids are with their emotions when their feelings are not invalidated.️️ — Academic Bae (@its_Ropa) July 9, 2020
You can tell that they talk to her AND listen. Her language is highly advanced for her age. — MoneysPenny (@Callen27G) July 9, 2020
Tell me how come this sweet baby acknowledges both that it is really hard to be in quarantine AND that it is necessary to stay safe. Literally she’s way more mature than some of these adults who throw tantrums for being asked to wear a mask. — ariel (@bbymillennial) July 9, 2020
She’s making excellent points. She articulated her feelings really well. “I like doing these things but I can’t do these things right now. I get WHY I can’t do these things but I’m still frustrated.” — Kara is washing her hands (@karapgoldman) July 9, 2020
On the other hand, there are those who commended Blake's parents for listening to their toddler the entire time.
I really can’t stop watching this over and over again. They really gave her room to vent and just flow thru her emotions and by the end of the spiel she was calm and subdued. Validating vulnerability as something that is okay early on is pretty clutch https://t.co/FWn9rUGG5J — iCrush yomphakathi (@Misokeys) July 9, 2020
