Christmas is just around the corner and what parents want is to keep their nosy kids from unwrapping their presents before the day arrives. However, having limited space at home hinders them from keeping the gifts away from the eyes of their little ones.
Sadie Griffiths, a mom-of-three, shared to the Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas Facebook page how they secretly hide the presents from their toddlers. Her husband, Brett, gave her the idea to put their children's gifts inside suitcases.
The best part is that suitcases have locks so the little ones would surely not be able to touch any of the presents inside. The post has garnered 29K interactions and over four thousand comments within the day it was posted.
If you are a parent and want to make sure that all the presents are neatly wrapped until Christmas morning, here are the best Christmas present secret hiding places at home according to Cafe Mom, so your excited children would not find them, besides keeping them in suitcases.
The garbage
No kid in their right minds would want to think of looking for their gifts in the garbage. Just be careful not to throw them away on garbage day.
The attic
Keep the presents inside black garbage bags, then store them in the attic in the meantime. Your kids would surely be scared to get up there because it is also dusty.
Under your bed
After you have placed the gifts under your bed, cover them up with other stuff. You could cover them up with clothes kept in big plastic bags or toys that your children do not want to with anymore.
In the freezer
As long as the gift is not sensitive to temperature changes, you could also make use of the freezer as a secret hiding place.
Underwear drawer
Your nosy kid would never want to dig into your underwear drawer for Christmas presents. But if you want to be sure, you could even put them in their dad's drawer.
Right in front of your kids' eyes
What your children would not think of looking at are the boxes or containers that are seen right in front of their eyes. Label the boxes with tags that would not entice your little ones. You could write about study guides or receipts so your children would not think of digging into them.
In the car
If you think your kids would not look back in the trunk when you go out to shop, you could also keep their presents loaded there. Cover them up with your car cover to be sure.
In the hamper
Hide presents under dirty clothes, and your kids would not mind looking through them. You could also do the same if you want to keep them hidden in your cabinet.
